Maddi's 8th Birthday…Take 3

Okay, so this is Maddi's FINAL birthday celebration.  On January 11th, she had a mustache themed sleepover with her friends from soccer, ballet, and school.  Why…why did we have yet another birthday party for this girl?  Well, she has not had a "friend" party since she turned 4.  We told her this year she could have one, but it's is hard with her having a winter break birthday.  I didn't want to go through all the work to plan a friend/sleepover party over winter break just to get rejected by everyone because they're busy or out of town for the holidays, so we decided to wait until school was back in session and everyone was getting over the holiday craziness.  That was clearly the way to go because every single girl invited showed up…Of course it fell on a very important Seahawks game (against the Saints).  With this win, they moved on the NFC Championship…so, what that means is Brock was off watching the game and I was on my own…

All the moms kept telling me how brave I was and should they stay and help, but for some reason even though this was our first slumber party, I wasn't too stressed out.  They're just a bunch of really good girls and how intimidating can 10 girls be?

Our friend Chi did stay to hang out and help since her daughter, Dhanya wasn't going to stay for the sleepover.  I think I would have been fine, but the company was definitely nice.

Two other girls had chosen not to sleepover (they're still at such a young age and some girls just aren't comfortable with sleepovers yet that the invitation left it open to stay for the sleepover or get picked up around 8).  Shortly after, Brock came back home and danced with the girls alongside Just Dance on the WiiU, made popcorn for them as they were getting all bundled up in their sleeping bags on the living room floor, watching American Girl movies.

Everything really had gone off without a hitch until we went to lay down in our room.  We left the door open and let Maddi know if anyone needed anything to come let us know.  Nearing midnight, she comes in to let us know that one of her friends wasn't feeling well and wanted to call her dad.  Long story short, just as Brock was letting Dad in the front door, poor little Ella let it all out all over our floor, our blanket, her sleeping bag…We got that cleaned up, she went home, her twin sister, Ada stayed and the rest of the night was fine (other than a couple girls trying to pull an all-nighter).

I made breakfast for all the girls the next morning and then it was time to pack it up and send them all home! It was a lazy day for the Randazzos after that…lots of lounging on the couch and naps :)

As popular as the whole mustache fad is, it was surprisingly really hard to find mustache party supplies, so we improvised a little went with pink and black zebra stripes and incorporated mustaches where we could.
Goody bags for the candy buffet and clear mustache bags to take home decorated cupcakes.
stickers with girls' names for their candy bags
candy buffet
(Thanks Winco for cheap bulk candy!)
mustaches or mustache glasses to wear for the party
cupcake decorations to decorate their own funfetti cupcakes
*Also notice Maddi's mug she made at the Painted Plate

Maddi, my crazy Rainbow Loomer, made all of these bracelets to give away at this party.  She even made enough to give to parents as they dropped/picked up their kids.

We had every intention of doing some kind of photo booth, but the girls came, things started getting loud and crazy and this was all we got :)
