As we do every year, we went searching for our perfect Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. We completely steered clear of Black Friday or any kind of retail shopping for that matter.
The Kipfers followed us out to the same farm we had gone to the year before. They were looking for a very reasonably sized Noble, so they found one pretty quick. The Randazzos on the other hand were looking for a pretty tall one, so it took us a while...
We got our "perfectly tall tree" home and Brock tried and tried and tried to get it straight, but this was the best he could do. We said, "to hell with it…it's going to have to do". We strung the lights and ribbon and the kids had a blast looking through all of the ornaments and hanging them up.

| Barbie ornament collection, mostly from my childhood and a few of Maddi's before they discontinued this collection last year. |
We went to bed content that all the Christmas decorations had been hung (the week prior) and now the Christmas tree was up, decorated, and lit (as crooked as it was).

While everyone else was sleeping, at about 11:30, I heard a CRASH and this was what I had found. The water had spilled all over our hardwood and ornaments had broken. Brock had already spent much of the night in frustration from trying to get the tree up and straight, that I didn't want to bother him with this in the middle of the night. I just cleaned up the water and went to bed. The rest would have to wait until the morning...
We got a more heavy duty stand that worked out so much better (once Brock could get the tree and stand to cooperate together).
The moral of the story. Do not get a 10 foot Christmas tree next year!
