On June 9th, there was an alumni soccer tournament, benefitting a local organization called Friends of Mia. Check out the website to learn more about Mia and this organization.

Kenny bugged and bugged Brock for MONTHS to play goalkeeper for River Ridge and Brock of course hedged and hedged. Finally, Brock committed and made it out a couple of times to practice with Kenny. It has literally been YEARS since Brock has played any soccer, so there was definitely a nervousness in making this commitment...nervous that he may hurt himself (he's no spring chicken...) and nervous because he clearly isn't the soccer player he was at 18.
Turns out, he didn't hurt himself and he actually played pretty well. Maddi, Brody, and Mommy were really proud to watch him play that day. I think it was a great opportunity for the kids to see their Dad out there on the soccer field doing what he loved for so many years.
Although, River Ridge lost all of their games, they didn't lose them by much and considering the fact that these guys have either not ever played together (because of the age gap between some of the alum) or haven't played together in YEARS, I think they really did a great job out there.
