Valentine's Day

Having kids makes holidays like Valentine's Day so much more meaningful and fun.

breakfast for Maddi and Brody before school
got this great pancake idea from Pinterest and was so excited to finally be able to make it happen!
I tend to go overboard with gifts for these holidays and decided finally that my kids have WAY TOO MANY things (toys, books, candy, etc).  I kept it really light this year with these bags and stickers from the Dollar Store, a monster stuffed animal for Brody, bulldog stuffed animal for Maddi, cards, and a box of chocolates for each.

My parents came over the night before to bring their goodies for the kids and of course while I decide to gift lightly, they go over the top (nothing new there).  Funny thing was without knowing I bought Maddi a grey bulldog, they bought Brody a brown one…it worked out great!
After breakfast and gifts in the morning, it was time to get Maddi ready for school like any other day.  After school was ballet, and then we met up with Brock to go watch William play basketball (for Warner Pacific) against Evergreen State College.  It wasn't the most romantic way to spend Valentine's Day, but we couldn't pass up watching Will play in town.  Not to mention, he's had a bad knee all season, so this was one of very few games he was able to play.  Our other plans were heart shaped, homemade pizzas, but that was all saved for another day!

Haha, where do you guys both shop in order to buy the same exact stuffed animal for the kids? That is too funny. Also - love those pancakes? They're not as hard to make as they look, right? Pretty sure I'd find a way to screw them up. :P
