First Day of School

Maddi and I both had successful FIRST days of school at our brand new school, Peter G. Schmidt in Tumwater this September.  I am thrilled to be teaching 4th grade here this year.  It has been an adjustment on both our parts, making new friends/co-workers and trying to fit into an already tight community of parents/teachers/kids.  BUT, we're off to a great start.  For Maddi, while day one was tough (missing her Pioneer friends and trying to figure out where she fits into the 3rd grade mix), she has quickly made friends and feels like she's always been there.  This is no surprise to anyone who knows Maddi, but Mommy was feeling pretty sad for her that first day.  Luckily, we're into our second month and feeling like we're where we belong.

Dad had already left to take Brody and Maisie to Halmoni's house,  so it was a selfie kind of day.
