NINE Year Anniversary

On July 10th, Brock and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary by heading out of town for a quick overnight trip.  Dates and whatnot seemed so much easier when it was just Maddi, but they are definitely harder to come by now that there are three munchkins.  Obviously we are beyond blessed to have my parents who will watch our kids at the drop of a hat, but we try to be mindful of their time too, so again, it was just a quick trip, but more than worth it!

We headed down to Seaside on Thursday night, had a late dinner/drinks and went to bed.  We woke up the next morning and took advantage of the free hotel continental breakfast, got ready, took a walk into Seaside, then headed into Cannon Beach.  There we parked, got our favorite coffee from the Sleepy Monk (missed out on our favorite orange/chocolate scones, which we wanted to take back to the kids...BOO HOO!), walked all through town and then back up along the beach back to our car.  We drove into Astoria on our way out for Brock to load up on cigars at the little smoke shop he loves there and then had lunch at the Wet Dog Cafe/Brewery before heading back to get the kids.

SEE, quick and uneventful, but RELAXING, without an agenda, which was just what we needed.

Cant wait for NUMBER 10...maybe we'll be finding ourselves on a beach, somewhere HOT and TROPICAL...
We decided the trip was our present, so we just exchanged cards, but I had gone to  a Korean store with my mom earlier in the day and saw this piece of pottery and picked it up for our 9 year "pottery" gift.
Such mean parents...Brock wanted us to take these pictures to send to the kids to see if they'd get mad, knowing how much they love this place (they were pretty cool about it actually).
(We really didn't play; just walked in, took these pictures and walked out)
