Brody turns FOUR!

Brody is now 4 years old. Crazy how time flies. As sad as it makes me to know he is becoming such a big boy, it also makes me so happy to watch him grow and learn everyday.

Being home with Mommy this year has made him into quite the "Mama's boy" and we have such a strong bond that I wondered how he would be when the baby arrived and he had to share me with her. Surprisingly (but then again, not really) he has shared me willingly with her and has been so understanding of the time I have to spend with Maisie (which, is time ultimately taken from him).

As sad as it makes me to not be able to spend as much time with him that we are both used to, there is something so great that has come from it all and that is the relationship that him and Brock are building with each other. He has really leaned on Brock and it has been such a good thing for them both. For instance, bedtime routine was Mommy reading books to him and Maddi before bedtime and since Maisie takes up that time of night, Daddy has full time bed time duty for the two big kids and instead of bedtime stories, it has become knock knock joke time. It has seriously become Brody's favorite time of the day and he drags Brock downstairs for bed because he just can't wait for the knock knock jokes (what a night and day difference from US having to drag HIM to bed before).

Other Brody tidbits:

...he starts preschool at Good Shepherd Preschool in September and is very excited!

...LOVES his baby sister and continues to be so patient and loving with her

...starts his first real season of soccer this month with Daddy as his coach

...STILL loves anything Power Rangers, also likes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Team Umizumi, He-Man, guns, swords, office supplies, playing kitchen, painting, play-doh, going to the park, anything related to being outside

...still attached to "blankie"

...FULLY potty trained, even over-night

...loves to dress up in his knight costume (even in public)

He is Mommy's one and only boy and is treated like so. Obviously I love all three of my kiddos the same, but I just have a special, very soft place in my heart just for him. He is all boy, rough and tough, but also has a very sensitive, thoughtful, loving side to him that I just can't resist.

I hate how fast he is growing, but still look forward to all he will learn in this coming year and the ways he will grow as a little man.

Brody got to choose what he wanted to do with Mommy and Maisie on his birthday.  First item on the agenda...go to Toys R Us and spend birthday money/gift card.

Park of course. But the sweetheart that he is wanted to wait until Maddi was done with school for the day so she could come with us.  We also met Ayva & Izeyah :)

Happy Birthday crazy boy!

4 year check up.  This is a step up from the 3 year check up.  This time he had his hearing and vision checked.  What a big boy!

Developmental questionnaire

He actually liked this tiger gown and wanted to take it home!
