We went to a Family Fun Night/Dance at Mountain View (all four of us, in one car, on a night Brock was on call...) We weren't there more than 20/30 minutes when Brock's pager went off and we had to go. I told him he had to be the one to break the news to Maddi, who was on the "dance floor" in the gym, dancing her heart away. She of course was devastated and bawled her eyes out all the way to the car...then all the way to the hospital where we dropped Brock off...and then all the way to Chuck E. Cheese.
I stopped in front and asked if she still wanted to cry...she said, "no".
I figured it was a Friday night, Maddi got jipped, Brody needed to exert some energy, and it didn't make sense for us to go all the way home just to have to come back and get Brock, so this was our best option. The kids had a blast and Mommy wanted to go home and sanitize everyone!
