As much as I am not looking forward to extra days of school in June, I have much enjoyed the downtime to organize and clean a little and just hang out with my babes.

wind, power outages and snow...oh my!
Winter is hitting hard and early here in western Washington! I already have 3 school days to make up in June. We missed last Tuesday for power outages. Apparently, 13 of the schools in North Thurston lost power. We lost power Monday night, around 9 p.m. and it didn't come back until about noon the next day. Fortunately, the temperatures weren't low enough for the house to get too uncomfortably cold. Brock did manage to get a generator Tuesday morning and by the time he got it all set up and ready to run, the power came back. Now, he's ready to use his new "toy" and WANTS the power to go out. Guys...they're weird. Then, on Sunday we started getting snow and it has since stayed and some turned to ice. The roads have been really bad, so no school yesterday and today. Brock has been able to make it to work okay, but the kids and I haven't left the house since Monday night. We'll see what's to come, but from the sounds of it, a little more snow and then of course...RAIN! At least the kids got to play in the snow...there was NONE to play in last year, so Maddi has been a happy camper. She made a snowman at Halmoni & Pop's house on Sunday and had a snowball fight with Pop. I took her and Brody out for about 10 minutes yesterday (WAY too cold to stay out any longer) and in that time, she managed to throw a snowball in poor Brody's face..."MOM, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!"
