Zoo date with the Nikonovs

We had such a fabulous day today with the Nikonov clan. We do not get together with this threesome often enough. I don't even think it's the distance so much as how busy both of our families are. I think when we have the time, we do a pretty good job of traveling one way, the other or in the middle to see each other.

Today, we met at the Woodland Park Zoo (thank you Groupon for such a great deal!) for Maeve's and Brody's first zoo experience. We saw all kinds of cool animals like giraffes, lions, penguins, hippos, and flamingos (Maddi's favorite), just to name a few! We got hungry after a while and decided that it would be fun to head to the Seattle waterfront for lunch, so we met up again at Red Robin (after Brock and I were finally able to navigate ourselves from point A to point B...we are clearly not from the big city).

Lunch was BUSY, as this part of town was crowded with Sounders and Mariner (er, Boston) fans, plus it was a fairly nice summer, Saturday afternoon in Seattle. Maeve was amazing throughout the entire day, but I was extra impressed with how great she was sitting up like a big girl in her high chair the ENTIRE lunch. Brody on the other hand looked like a hot mess when all was said and done.
