I just LOVE when it's time to go to the pumpkin patch! Brock hates a crowd, so we opted out on a weekend trip this year and went on a Monday instead. We went to
Hunter's; it's close by and we love the extras they have there. It definitely was not crowded like it was on the weekend (everytime we passed by it on Saturday and Sunday, the parking lot was insane!), but we were surprised at how many other people had the same idea as us. It was sooooo cold (BRRRR), but with a little help from hot spiced cider, we did okay. Maddi was SUPER excited and acted as if she'd never been taken to a pumpkin patch before (so not true!) This will probably be the first year that she actually remembers going, though. It was so much fun to see how exciting this was for her. She loved the ride out to the pumpkin patch on the tractor and counted the Christmas trees on the way out (it was the first time we'd heard her count so high...to 39!) She picked the tiniest pumpkin they must have had out there, Brock picked a big one, and Maddi picked two more in between. After we got our pumpkins, Maddi had to slide, slide, and slide again...of course Daddy had to go down with. We pet some goats and then we were off to carve. When we got home, Maddi picked one of the most difficult patterns, but Brock was a trooper and went for it...he did most of the work and I finished. The next night after working all the way up at UW and having to drive back down, Maddi begged and pleaded for Daddy to carve a "smily face" pumpkin...so they did.

Maddi took this one.
