The Randazzo Family: Maddi's Birthday!

For close to a year now, Maddi has been asking for an American Girl doll and we've continually refused to pay that amount of money for a doll, but the closer the holidays got, the closer we got to making the decision to get one for her. We decided against giving it as a Christmas gift (even though that's what she asked Santa for). I realized that there was an American Girl store in Alderwood Mall, so I decided to surprise her with a trip up there. She had no clue that a store existed at all, let alone right up the road from us.

So, the morning of her birthday, she opened a present from Mom & Dad, which was a little American Girl pet cat named Praline. We told her then that she would be going up to the store to pick out her very own doll.

We went up with my mom & grandma, so Maddi of course got extra spoiled. As soon as we got to the store, we picked out the doll that looked most like her, got her (the doll's) ears pierced, and my mom and grandma picked out a couple of outfits/jammies for the girls to match. We then had lunch at the bistro there.

What an amazing place! If you go, be ready to throw down some cash though! They always have events going on (arts/crafts/stories/dates with Mommy or Daddy) so I hope to take Maddi up again for some more American Girl fun!
